Great atmosphere and location. Bit of a nice walk on a Sunday morning. My advice to you: get there early. They don't accept reservations and there isn't really much of a waiting time if you get there early. The restaurant was crowded for a Sunday morning brunch. I would recommend ordering the specials of the day or if not the drink that I had was amazing. I also ordered the Norwegian Benedict. It was so good! See the picture I posted for reference. I would definitely 100% come back in the near future. The vibes of the place were really chill and the decorations are top notch. The restrooms are located downstairs and they are unbelievably clean!

We had a great brunch here today. The omelettes were fluffy and fresh, potatoes hot, and service was excellent. Carlos our waiter joked around with us and added a special touch to our dining experience. More expensive than typical diner but the quality of food and service makes it worth it.

AMAZING BREAKFASTS!The menu is insane for breakfasts and everyone at my table LOVED what they ordered. The service was super fast and extremely helpful. We went on a Saturday and the place was packed. Definitely worth the wait....which goes quick.

Super kid friendly and solid food. We moved here from Bk and Raymond's is our go to breakfast and lunch spot when friends and families visit from out of town.Staff is awesome, notice how everyone is happy even though the place is always packed on the weekends? That says something...I always get their chicken waffle for brunch, it is moist, delicious and does not disappoint. Other dishes that are noteworthy is their farmhouse scrambled, burger, steak and eggs, club. The wait time is never that long and staff try to accommodate.

My family and I have dined at Raymond's many times. Yesterday was our first visit in months, and we were quickly reminded how amazing their food is. We had steak and eggs, pancakes, french toast and a tuna sandwich and all items we delicious!

This place is great. Has an old school diner feel  to it. The food is definitely not old school. Lots of options for everyone. I recently went for brunch so it was pretty busy. We didn't make reservations, not sure they even take reservations, so we waited about 15-20 minutes which was not bad. I had the lime Ricky to drink, which was good. Someone else had the raspberry lime Ricky and another had the hot chocolate and hot spiced apple cider. All were very good. Our table had the following for entrees, Four cheese grilled cheese with fries, that was good with lots of thin crispy fries. Mac and cheese with bacon lardons, was a big serving and was very tasty. Burrito bowl was very fresh with lots of ingredients. Frittata was a good size with a salad on top. I had the Cheese grits with chorizo and 2 poached eggs. It was amazing. Only complaint was that I wanted more! For dessert I had the sticky toffee cake. That was really good with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top. Check this place out.

Service has been consistently stellar each time I've been. This restaurant is busy for a reason and is not your typical rude diner. The food is different, the menu has variety, and it's been tasty every time.Great for breakfast dates or special family brunch/breakfast occasions.

ahhh Raymond. its my favorite. eggs benedict is my jam. but all around their food, just everything is worth trying. two Raymond one in Montclair & Ridgewood i had the pleasure of trying & neither disappoint. Ridgewood is a bit bigger in size, but all around both a dynamite place to eat & then take a walk after you eat. there is not one thing i can say bad about Raymonds. polite quick service, great pricing, fun for you & your friends or a nice family breakfast! beautiful scenary in Ridgewood! if you havent been here yet, i think this Saturday is a great place to go!

I am a big fan of Raymond's for breakfast/brunch! Anything off the morning menu is awesome- I love the breakfast BLT! Definitely order a side of kids french toast - their's is the best I've had. In the winter, I love coming to get a cup of their Belgium hot chocolate with the giant peppermint marshmallow. In the warmer months, I'm a big fan of their blueberry pie!!

Upper Saddle River, NJ - August 31st, 2018

Raymond's is my favorite place in Ridgewood for breakfast, brunch, and lunch. It's always bustling and the staff is great. They're always trying to give you the best that they can offer.I always order the same select things off the menu because some things I have tried and didn't like them. However, Raymond's is a great sport about it and always offers to prepare something else. Their customer service sets them apart from others. :)Favorite dishes: the omelette, breakfast burrito bowl, farm scramble (ingredients change by the season), huevos rancheros, and the soft shell crab po'boyFYI: love their freshly brewed coffee, multigrain toast, french fries, and breakfast home fries!

I'm new to the area and was looking for a breakfast/brunch restaurant, and Raymond's did not disappoint. Service was friendly and quick. The avocado toast is LOADED with avocado and the homemade scones are out of this world! Will certainly be returning.

Des Plaines, IL - July 2nd, 2018

Delicious upscale diner! The menu has a great variety of food and beverages, and they have daily specials. We LOVED our fresh watermelon drink and fresh strawberry basil lemonade. The hot chocolate with the marshmallow was also very tasty. Service was great! We had our two older nephews with us and our server was very patient with our table, making sure that ALL of us had everything we needed. The blueberry pie looked so appetizing, and I don't usually order pie! I really want to try that next time. We actually hope to visit a few more times before our short trip is over.

Awesome spot for brunch or lunch, I've never been for dinner but always enjoyed their food during the late morning or early afternoon. It's in a great location in Ridgewood and the restaurant is very cute and cosy. The breakfast food is always fabulous, coffee is good, and the staff is very attentive and kind.

This was my second visit to Raymond's while visiting a fi end in North Jersey! The staff here is always my favorite part. Our waiter was so kind and was back with a fresh pot of coffee right before we needed it. I absolutely love this cute breakfast spot. The Mexican infused brunch is filled with so many awesome options and always makes it hard to decide what to get! This time I got the burrito bowl and it was so good! It had so much flavor to it and was extremely filling. My friend got the burrito and loved it as well. My little sister went hard and got chocolate chip pancakes, a side of bacon, and a side of potatoes! She loved every bit of it. Also, their sides are huge! Can't wait to come back and try something new!

Have been here for brunch multiple times and the food and service is always excellent. It is usually packed at breakfast time but we never waiting longer than 15 minutes for a table. The menu is not that complicated at all but the simple choices that it has are very good and well worth the price you are paying.Plus I am a sucker for any place that actually offers grits on the menu.

Franklin Lakes, NJ - March 2nd, 2018

Although this place can get crowded and noisy, it is absolutely worth the wait and noise. For all of the food that I have tried there, I have never been disappointed. The service/workers are very friendly, and the atmosphere and decor gives it a certain charm. Whether you're going for breakfast, brunch, lunch, or dinner, definitely give it a try.

Dumont, NJ - November 9th, 2017

I love love love this place and frequent it. Yes it's always packed and loud, but with quality food and friendly service it's a downright must. I've been to both locations and slightly prefer this one, although the menus are the same. They constantly change their specials, and while I have yet to try them for dinner, I can't imagine it would disappoint. My go to meal is the breakfast burrito bowl with rice, beans, roasted corn, cheese and poached eggs. And avocado! Does it get better? Nope. Their omelettes are big and fluffy and super filling. Last time I got toast I asked for jelly and was brought a mug sizes tin of strawberry jam with a cute little spoon; this was heavenly. My hubby loves their veggie sandwiches, although we were disappointed to find they won't serve it at breakfast even thought it's bread tomatoes and sprouts, all items available for breakfast. Drink wise, get the Belgian hot chocolate with homemade marshmallow, it's sinful and decadent. The decor alone is gorgeous, a mix if 50s diner and 20s art deco subway tile and glassware. I love this spot and intend on becoming a regular. Home fries, a solid 10.

Ridgewood, NJ - October 4th, 2017

This if my family's go-to place for weekend brunch.  The food is probably a solid 4, but the service is a solid 10.  It does get busy there, but we have never had to wait too long and the process is always managed really well.  With small children, going to a restaurant for a meal can always give you a slight pause--with Raymond's they couldn't make it easier.  They have a great children's menu, crayons, highchairs and booster seats, mini cups with lids and straws and smiles.  The food is classic upscale americana and the menu has something for everyone.  I love their grits and sausage, veggie burger, short ribs, hummus app any and all of their soups and the cobb salad is so good.  (I sometimes go by myself for a quick meal when I'm craving that salad and a big iced coffee!)  My kids also love their revolving flavored muffins and scones.  The ambiance is light-filled (the back room is darker, but still feels cheerful and cozy) and refreshing.  And I cannot stress enough how amazing the staff is.  From the folks who bus the tables and sweep the floors between each and every new customer to the waiters and the cooperative style they have (you can ask anyone for anything and no one ever tells you that they will get your waiter for you, they just take your request and make it happen), Raymonds has service down to a tee.  Even the hosts are always friendly and professional and do their best to accommodate your requests, even when they have tons of people clamoring for a table.  I really can't recommend this place any more for the overall experience and I can't imagine going there with my family for as long as they are open!

Second time coming here and still loved the food and service. We got the Monday's special and enjoyed every bit of it. We added two side dishes Mac and cheese and onion rings.. So delicious. We had the sticky toffee cake which was great. I love this place.

Bergenfield, NJ - August 6th, 2017

If this location is supposed to be not as good as the Montclair location, I can't really imagine eating there. How could something be better than amazing? Started out with their iced green tea, wow! Wish I could have taken one (or 2) to go! My partner got their Belgian hot chocolate with a big ol marshmallow in there, and it was so rich and delicious she ended up getting another one for dessert!! For lunch I got the veggie sandwich -sans red onion- just avocado, tomatoes, a nice cheddar, and some sprouts on some damn good whole grain breads. It came with a side salad that had some quite tastey dressing.Lunch being so healthy I got myself a slice of the key lime pie! With some whipped cream on top and some lemon/lime shavings the custard was really soft and the crust was unconventionally good. It wasn't as much flakey and grahamcracker crumbley, but more consistent and crumbled together more than apart if that makes any sense. In any case everything was delicious and topped off with a vanilla shake! Expletive! I'm definitely coming back to try stuff like avacado toast and more desserts! =DMaybe even make it a little further out to Montclair and try the original!

New York, NY - July 5th, 2017

Raymond's is such a great casual date spot! My boyfriend and I ate at Raymond's for dinner and then took a walk in the town & park across the street. The food, service, prices and ambiance is great! Raymond's is featured as an old school, but upscale diner. I was happy to see that they serve breakfast all day! So I ordered he chocolate chip pancakes which comes with fresh fruit. They were honestly some of the best pancakes I've ever had; the perfect consistency and full of flavor. My boyfriend ordered the cheeseburger with a side of onion rings. He loved the burger and said the onion rings were fried in like a tempura/beer batter, which he said was great and not oily at all. We really wanted to try some desserts because they all looked amazing but we were so full after our meals. Going to have to come back for dessert another time!

What a pleasant breakfast experience ! Coffee was fresh and so was my avocado and cheddar omelette . The service was so nice too! I loved being able to sit outside in this quiet community and enjoy an amazing breakfast! Loved it .... will be back soon!

Westwood, NJ - May 28th, 2017

Love Raymond's although I have to see it is hit or miss because I've been here ALOT and sometimes the same dish won't be as good however overall I have to give 5 stars for more positives than negatives.  I love the brunch items.  The breakfast blt is a favorite of mine as well as the French toast.  It's really great and different.  It's overall a pretty noisy place and you are seated close together but as long as you know that going in you won't be disappointed.  Coffee is also really great as well as some speciality sodas.  In the summer get the blueberry pie for dessert.  The chocolate pudding is amazing as well.  It's not really pudding it's more like chocolate mousse

Adam G.

South Hackensack, NJ - May 25th, 2017

Raymond's has nothing but quality food at a reasonable (for the area) price point. I had a delicious omelette and the best blueberry pie I've ever had.

Ridgewood, NJ - March 29th, 2017

When I woke up I had no clue where I was, after 6 minutes of blindly walking around I realized I was in the beautiful Raymond's. As soon as I sat down to a table I was immediately slapped because apparently I was supposed to wait to get served. I go to order breakfast expecting fast food, but instead I'm served a 1 hour course of yummy food. I tried to order a martini with my breakfast but they declined me, something about it being under 21 or something. I also never received my happy meal that I ordered to go but that's besides the point.  I was extremely happy with my meal, I give it a 65/100 or a solid D (I am a teacher).

Ridgefield Park, NJ - February 19th, 2017

Wow. What can I say about Raymond's. FIrst off, it is always my go to suggestion when someone needs a brunch recommendation. It is BYOB so we usually bring a bottle of champagne and ask for orange juice for the table. So perfect. Now, for the food. I have never gotten anything I didn't like there, nor has anyone I know! My absolute FAVORITE is the breakfast burrito bowl. The poached eggs are always perfect, the seasoning is delightful, and the crunchy tortilla strips bring it all together! Last time I was there I got the fish tacos. The fish was nice and crispy, the slaw was light and fresh, and the rice and beans were delicious. They always have great specials so I would recommend checking them out. You never know what they're going to have. Sometimes on the weekends there can be a long wait 30-45 minutes, but it is always worth it, and they'll take your phone number so you can always put your name down and walk around Ridgewood until you get a text. Raymond's is definitely a must!!

Nancy M.

New York, NY - February 19th, 2017

Went here today for the first time and had the best experience! Little bit of a wait but so worth it. Severs were great and always checking on us. I got the salmon burger and it was AMAZING! Everything on the menu sounded great and my whole table was satisfied! Definitely will be back.

I love good brunch and Raymond's has it!  I live the Benedict and the various cafe options.  I have never ordered something that I haven't enjoyed from there.

Ridgewood, NJ - January 15th, 2017

Let me start off by saying i am in love with raymond's. not only is the food impeccable, but the serving staff is welcoming, and so nice. i am a student at the high school and this is a go to spot for a lot of students when wanting brunch on the weekends. but don't be alarmed; there are plenty of places to sit and teenagers won't bother you :) they are typically crowded because it is a great restaurant, but the longest i've had to wait was about 10 minutes (but you get seated right away most of the time). i am actually going to this fine establishment tomorrow and can't wait to eat their mac and cheese with bacon! definitely one of my top choices. the nachos, waffles with chocolate syrup and fruit, and french toast are to die for!!

Lyss G.

Paramus, NJ - November 14th, 2016

I'm unsure why this only has 3 1/2 stars. I personally loved every aspect. Went sunday afternoon, crowded but only a 5 min wait. Decor is so cute. I had breakfast burrito bowl which was delicious! I did ask for a side hot sauce. Boyfriend had chicken avocado sandwhich i believe which was messy but so good. I highly recommend it

Nicole S.

West Milford, NJ - November 10th, 2016

Amazing! I've mostly just come for breakfast because they have the best omelettes I've ever tasted. It's the perfect consistency with the fluffy eggs and not overly greasy. I usually get mine with avocado, goat cheese and sometimes chorizo. The avocados they use are always fresh tasting and not too hard like they aren't ready to eat yet. The creamy goat cheese in the eggs is delicious and the chorizo adds a little bit of spicy to it. Comes with nice big hash brown potatoes that have a nice texture and seasoning to them. I tend to add hot sauce to everything but these have the perfect taste even without the extra sauce. My boyfriend usually gets the French toast which is to die for! I believe they make it out of French bread which I was a little skeptical at first because of the texture but it's delicious. Not too sweet like it normally is at a diner, just right. Place gets pretty packed on the weekends so be prepared to wait if you stroll in past 10am. Worth the wait! Food and service is excellent!

North Bergen, NJ - October 12th, 2016

I've been to the Montclair location a few times and the ridgewood location does not disappoint. Came here this morning for brunch and had the "huevos rancheros." This dish was delish and so was the coffee. The salads here are amazing to.

Raymond's is a go-to stop! Whether it's for there amazing French toast or there quinoa breakfast bowl! Very friendly staff... only down side is no refills to iced coffee !

Fair Lawn, NJ - June 27th, 2016

This place is truly a treat! I have been here a handful of times with my boyfriend and we are always so satisfied when we come. The food is very good quality and is prepared really well. The chef uses ingredients that just pair really nicely together. This is a really good spot to come for breakfast or lunch. They have a coffee menu that has a lot of tasty treats, and typically they offer a seasonal beverage as well that's very nice. For example, in the fall my boyfriend got some sort of spiced apple cider drink that was served cold that was very delicious. On our most recent visit, he ordered an iced green tea with ginger and honey that was delectable. I ordered an omelet recently that had a bunch of different ingredients (chorizo, tomato, goat cheese, onions, etc..) and the omelet was really good! It wasn't overdone and didn't feel like it was too much. I put some guacamole on top and it was awesome! The decor here is also something I enjoy. This place is quite a step up from just a traditional cafe or diner and I really enjoy coming here for breakfast on my days off :)

Palmdale, CA - June 9th, 2016

This is my go-to place to eat in town. Love the atmosphere and the vibes. Very trendy. Food is great ( I highly recommend the Avocado Toast with poached egg) A lot of space and very friendly staff.

Bloomingdale, NJ - June 5th, 2016

I love this place, amazingly sophisticated food, beautiful vintage ambiance, and affordable. Plenty of vegetarian options, and not your mundane red pepper and Portobello with balsamic, they have tasty, creative, and crave worthy food. There vegetarian chilly, is the perfect match for the storm outside. That's my son's first time and he loves it too!

Alie M.

Ridgewood, NJ - April 28th, 2016

This rating is for their awesome Veggie burger, soooo good!!! My other No.1 veggie burger used to be Portabella on the Bun from Cheesecake Factory. Unfortunately CF took it off from its menu. I'm so glad I found this Veggie Burger at Raymond's, Ridgewood location. Yum yum!

Richard C.

Montclair, NJ - April 25th, 2016

Use to live in Montclair and loved going to Raymond's religiously but since November I had moved back to Bergen county only to recently remember that Raymond's was in Ridgewood! As good if not better! I'm always getting a cafe mocha or an Arnold Palmer with my breakfast usual. Oh don't forget the home made Apple pie to top it all off!

Closter, NJ - March 11th, 2016

Finally made it back to Raymond's in Ridgewood, this time for dinner.  The service was night and day from the last time I was there.  The waiter was attentive, stopped by our table multiple times to fill up our water glasses and checked on us after our dinner was served to make sure everything was okay.  There is nothing negative to say about the food. Not a huge menu but I have never been disappointed with anything I have ordered whether it is breakfast, lunch or dinner. I've eaten in their Montclair location multiple times as well.  Such a cute atmosphere at both locations.  I have to give it 5 stars because I have never eaten anything that was disappointing. We'll be back.

Wayne, NJ - February 16th, 2016

If you're a fan of brunch check this place out! My best friend and I always come here when we're in ridgewood around brunch time. They have a big selection of dishes and everything is freshly made. The portions are also properly sized. My favorite is the eggs benedict with the home fries. Give this place a chance, you won't be disappointed!

Suzanne A.

Hawthorne, NJ - February 13th, 2016

I love Raymond's!! This is my go-to spot. The brunch here is absolutely out of this world. It's reasonably priced and the service is always good. The decor is a fun twist, and it's nice to be able to dine outside when it's warm. Breakfast or brunch wise, I would recommend either the egg Benedict, their omelettes, the broccoli cheddar quiche, or Belgian waffles. Lunch wise the menu is pretty similar to brunch, but their turkey burger is very good. Their chili is a good one too. Dinner I would say try their salmon or vegetable lasagna. I've been coming here pretty frequently since they opened and have never had a bad meal. Everything I've ordered, along with the rest of my party, has been excellent and fresh. Can't go wrong with anything on the menu!

Long Hill, NJ - December 14th, 2015

Wow! What a great place! Food for breakfast was delicious and high quality, service was great, and I loved the unique interior. Everything was spotless. How anyone can say Raymond's is cramped, etc. is beyond me. We looked around and surprised how spacious and charming it was. The faux tin ceiling was beautiful. It was decorated for the holidays and very pretty. I ordered regular coffee and it was nice and strong but not bitter. Loved the fact that they brought out a small stainless steel coffee pot for refills. My niece got the Belgian hot chocolate with the homemade marshmallow. What a wonderful taste. We both had the omelettes. These weren't typical diner style omelettes but French omelettes. They were tender, yellow, and cooked perfectly. Diner omelettes are brown and dry in my opinion. The potatoes were creamy on the inside, crispy on the outside. We got our meals with an English muffin and cream cheese. The cream cheese came on the side and it was a generous amount. There was fresh jam in a glass jar on the table which was delicious. Not sure what flavor it was but I'm thinking it was a mixed berry. My niece got a side of sausage with syrup. It has such a unique flavor and she loved it. I can't wait to come back for lunch and dinner to sample the rest of the menu. So glad we chose Raymond's over the Country Pancake House. BTW, if you go down Oak St. and turn right onto Franklin there is a metered parking lot behind the restaurant. On the right is little alley way leading out to Oak Street.

Solid, solid breakfast.  Opted for the omelet with Vermont cheddar, bacon and caramelized onions.  it came with crispy potatoes and 2 slices of the most delicious Multigrain bread.  wow, it was good.  counter service was efficient and friendly.  I like breakfast here better than lunch.

I like this one much better than the Montclair location. It's much more open, better lit, and the wait is about half what it is in Montclair. The staff is friendly and very helpful. The food is amazing, especially the french toast. Do not leave without trying the french toast!

My personal favorite Raymond's order is French Fries and hot chocolate (and the homemade marshmallow!) with a girl friend on a rainy day. (I hope you don't mind us taking up a table all afternoon!)  The ambience is charming and the food is great, whether you're at brunch with the family or lunch with a friend.

Amazing food and service.  Our sweet server Francesca suggestion of the turkey club & meatloaf sandwich knocked our socks off. Highly recommend this place for Sunday brunch!

I love this place the food is great and everything fresh and homemade.  They even make their own marshmallows for their hot chocolate.  Their Mac & Cheese fabulous!  Their French toast wonderful!  Great for kids also!

My family has been going to Raymond's long before the Ridgewood location opened and it's been our favorite breakfast/brunch option hands down!  My husband loves the Breakfast Burrito and orders it every time.  I've tried just about everything else on the breakfast menu and have never been disappointed!  My kids also love it!  We would go every weekend if we could!

I would like to preface this review by stating I was starving when I went!  And they did not disappoint.  Got there around 11:30 am on a Tuesday, pretty quiet.  I was seated immedately, ordered an omlette with avocado, onions, and spinach.  It came out rather quickly.  It was very good, large, with big chunky pieces of home fries( I would llike them more to the size of a tator tot) but delish.  The bread is a crunchy wheaty toasty treat.  I love that they put a jar of jelly on the table, eat up with every bite!  Coffee was good.  So much better than a diner and to be honest, for the 3 or 4 dollars more it was totally worth it.  Diners are definately not cheap fare these days.  The restaurant has an old time nostalgia feel and is very clean.  Service was good,  No complaints.  No wifi.  I tried, the password did not work.  And for those of you who write reviews about bringing in coffee from another place, that is just tacky.  No one cares that you paid $4 for that latte and they wouldn't let you take it in.  This is a business.  Why don't you just pack a lunch, go to Raymond's and order a diet coke.  Same thing.  Tacky tacky tacky.

Absolutely DELICIOUS French toast. Quite literally the best I've ever had. The omelettes are gigantic and also fantastic. The atmosphere in this restaurant is comfy and cool. I will definitely be coming back!

This place is amazing. Our servers were sweet and amazing, and we didn't wait long at all for our food even though it was very busy. The french toast is honestly to die for. I think heaven is made up of Raymond's french toast. I hope so.Everything is great, the ice green tea is delicious with honey and ginger.0 complaints. But seriously, get the french toast. You won't regret it ;)

Williamsburg, VA - January 18th, 2015

Super retro vibe. Very much like French Café meets 1940s/50s soda bar. Milkshakes are incredibly thick and flavorful. I had the burger with blue cheese and bacon cooked medium rare. Excellent burger. And the fries are phenomenal and homemade. Great atmosphere too! Very open and not claustrophobic at all. I ate up at the bar and the staff conversed with me without being prompted! It was just small talk, but it was nice to have been acknowledged as more than just a customer. Pretty building interior. And I know it sounds weird, but the bathrooms look like their straight out of a NYC subway station from back in the 40s; tiled floors and walls, porcelain faucets( I thought these were sweet!), and opaque glass door. I loved it!

Was lucky enough to stop by for fried chicken wednesdays !!! The chicken was great, the honey biscuits gave me goose bumps and the cheesy grits where out of this world. I really enjoyed the mixed greens as well. Wish I had room for desert. Service was great ! I cant wait to go back !!

Been here several times for Sunday Brunch. Always a little bit a a wait but well worth it. Food and service is terrific. Have also been twice for dinner, Raymond's does great justice to comfort food in a clean and friendly environment.

We had a delicious breakfast at Raymond's. The omelets are amazing! On another note, my daughter lost her wallet that day, not knowing exactly where it she lost it. Raymond's returned her wallet by mail. So not only is Raymond's a good restaurant, the people at Raymond's are honest and kind.

Waldwick, NJ - August 18th, 2014

I have only eaten here for breakfast a few times. Best coffee in town and the mug was enormous. The omelette was out of this world and the huevos rancheros was the best I have had in a long time. The service is always quick & friendly. Parking is a bit difficult but it is worth finding a spot. This is my favorite place to get breakfast in the Ridgewood area. I would recommend it to anyone.

Park Ridge, NJ - March 9th, 2014

I've been to Raymond's twice now, the most recent being last week. I have had the French toast, which is very good- not what I expected, it seemed like it was deep fried to me but still great! Also had the hot chocolate which comes with a big fat homemade marshmallow. Yum!Also had the blt w/avocado on 7 grain bread which was delicious, but no mayo on the sandwich, which I was surprised at.My friend's burger was awesome! I just wish there wasn't always a wait when you go there :(

Secaucus, NJ - February 22nd, 2014

I am so happy I came across Raymond's this morning on yelp. You know, I rarely wake up on the weekend and think, I really really really want to leave my house right now for some sit-down breakfast. Part of the reason is because I want to sleep in and relax in my PJs, but another reason is because usually i leave feeling like I could have made the meal myself (how hard is it to mess up eggs), or my stomach hates my guts. When my bf and I walked into Raymond's, we were the first on the list and didn't wait very long. The whole place reminded me of a restaurant we had been to in New Orleans. Big place, vintage vibe, simple style.I ordered a coffee and my bf ordered the cappuccino, a large bowl of cappuccino. Of course I wish I had ordered it once I had some of it. I wasn't jealous of his breakfast though because we both ordered the same thing: Norwegian Eggs Benedict. It was amazing!! This is the best eggs benedict that I have had in a long, long time. It was poached eggs with salmon on top of potato cakes (hash brown like) over arugula with an herb hollandaise sauce. I liked the substitute of the potato cake rather than the typical english muffin. Everything went together beautifully.I will definitely be back. I wanted to try a bunch of other dishes, but the Norwegian Benedict was so good, I might not be able to stray away from it. This is my new go to spot for Benedict cravings.

New Haven, CT - January 6th, 2014

LOVED the decor (old school seltzer spritzers, etc.) and unusual items (egg creams, Lime Rickeys, specialty hot chocolates with homemade marshmallows). Its description says "comfort food", which it is, but it's c. 1955 classy comfort food. Had a walk-in party of 8 on New Year's and they were able to seat us really quickly. They were very prompt with all service-- drinks, water refills (without having to ask), etc.--and we were all really satisfied with our meals (we had breakfast and lunch foods). Brioche, omelette, even ham and cheese sandwich were all great.

French Toast is to die for and the Belgian Hot  Chocolate with Joanne's Homemade Marshmallow is simply decadent.   Love the homey family atmosphere and the throwback feel makes dining here a great experience.

Wayne, NJ - November 16th, 2013

This place has yet to disappoint.  My wife and I have been to Raymonds 3 times in the past 6 months and can honestly say that the food has always been fantastic.  I had the grilled ham & cheese with a fruit salad side.  The grilled ham & cheese was so tasty, I wish I could drive over there right now for more.  Even more surprising was the fruit salad.  The fruit was so perfectly ripe and sweet that it makes my mouth water just writing this review.  Of course I had to have desert.  Love their pumpkin cheesecake. Much better than Cheesecake factory's.  Can't wait to go back.

What a great breakfast spot!!! I had the steak and eggs which was AMAZING! Two people in my group ordered the French toast and that was exceptionally good too! The service was on point! Would highly recommend this establishment!!! Keep up the great work!!! Looking forward to visiting the Montclair location next!!!

Ridgewood, NJ - October 18th, 2013

Awesome.  Ridgewood has been waiting a long time for a restaurant like this one.  Upscale diner is probably the best description.  Both the adults and my children love this place.  Their signature french toast is best in class and their pancakes are my personal favorite.  Very friendly staff and delicious food all around.

Scottsdale, AZ - October 14th, 2013

Always a lovely experience (although acoustically a bit loud) but that's part of the Raymond's ambiance. As much as I adore Raymond and appreciate having one so close to home, I'm still partial to driving to Montclair. Great food!!!

Hackensack, NJ - September 10th, 2013

Came here today for a first day of Pre k breakfast with our daughter. My husband and I both ordered omlets and my daughter had the kiddie pancakes. The kiddie pancakes were huge. My daughter was so happy and ate the whole thing( with. A little help). Our Omlets were yummy and fluffy. Our waitress was great and brought my daughter extra orange slices when she asked.

I really love this place.  Cute and casual environment.  The food is great and they take the time to prepare everything fresh and homemade-including most of the bread(and even the marshmallows).  Outstanding breakfast, lunch and dinner and a must try is either the Apple or Blueberry pie...OMG!

Ridgewood, NJ - August 24th, 2013

I live in Ridgewood (NYC transplant) and am so thrilled this place is now here!Great food and decor, good service and I really like their menu.I've been here twice now, first for brunch with a friend - great eggs and potatoes, multigrain toast with jam - fantastic. Today we had an early dinner and I had the calamari salad and it may have been some of the best friend calamari I've ever had. The only down side was that I don't like to eat only frisee in a salad. I wish there was a better mix of greens and the other down side is...THEY DON'T ACCEPT AMEX. They need to change that soon.I plan on going back a lot.

Montvale, NJ - August 3rd, 2013

We came here for an early dinner with kids and it was a GREAT place to go for a young family. First of all, we were not the only ones with kids there in the early evening. Secondly, the staff was really friendly bringing kid activities and tattoos to the table (not something I usually expect from a restaurant, but a much appreciated plus!) Several waitstaff helped us during the course of our meal, and everyone was very helpful and friendly. The restaurant was noisy, but that seemed to be more an accoustics issue. But the thing that makes this restaurant worth it is, 100%, the AMAZING food. The dishes appear simple, but are so filled with flavor we ALL cleared our plates.I would strongly recommend this restaurant!

Newport, OR - July 9th, 2013

I love this new restaurant in Ridgewood and it now is my favorite!  The brunch is outstanding; dinner is equally as good.  The staff is warm and inviting and the prices are excellent reflecting the quality.  The decor is not romantic is the traditional sense but it is SoHo chic without any of the dirt and grime.  I bring my 89 year old mother here regularly and the staff is great to help her to the car when I have to pick her up after our dining.  As we know parking is a challenge in Ridgewood, the restaurant actually has a space where you could do a quick drop off or quick pick up on special need occasions.  The managers are terrific and I give this restaurant my highest recommendation.  Enjoy!

Jersey City, NJ - July 8th, 2013

I'd been hearing about the greatness of this place from my friends up north for a while. Finally, I got to get involved in a Raymond's Breakfast. Literally everything on my plate(s) was delicious: from the homemade chorizo and cheddar omelet to the fluffy pancakes.  The service was great and we had good seating outside as well. Easily one of the better breakfasts I've had. I will be going back to Raymond's whenever possible. The only drawback is that I wanted to try everything on the menu.

Fair Lawn, NJ - June 20th, 2013

Absolutely loved everything about this place.   We first came on a rainy day when another place we were planning to go to had no availability. I was a bit skeptical because it had a bit of a 'diner' feel to it but all the food was great and the service was absolutely exceptional.   My son had to go to the basketball practice couple of blocks away and one of the waiters offered to borrow his umbrella so we can come back and have dessert.  As a result of our positive experience, I have scheduled a dinner there with a bunch of friends with kids and it was also great.  The service was very attentive but not annoying, the food was tasty, and the blueberry pie - just amazing.  We had about 6 kids aged 5 through 7 between us and one of the staff actually came out with a bunch of tatoos and other stuff to entertain the kids.  She sat down with all the girls, talked to them, applied their tatoos, etc.   Honestly, the place is great for kids, the food is really good, they have enough choices on the menu, and I dont understand why it is only 3.5 stars on yelp.  We will definitely be going back to Raymonds soon!

Bergen County, NJ - June 14th, 2013

After my last update, I didn't think that I would do another update since for us, Raymond's is as good as it gets...or so I thought... we were there for dessert tonight and I ordered the apple pie, I took a couple of bites and coincidently, I felt light -headed and lost my appetite (long week). The manager (Bob) noticed that I wasn't eating my pie and insisted that he bring me something else even after I told him that there was nothing wrong with the pie.  Bob took the pie off the table and brought me a slice of blueberry pie. I am just so impressed by the attentiveness, although I am really not too surprised:)

I love everything about Raymond's!The interior is illuminated from the large windows, the retro styled interior is comfy and homey. Brunch is amazing; my favorite is the wild mushroom omelette with Vermont cheddar. The vegetarian chili, beet salad, salmon; anything... is a hit. I've eaten at their Montclair institution/ location for years & so happy to have a Raymond's closer; right here in Ridgewood! ...Amen! :))))

Wayne, NJ - May 26th, 2013

Any place that looks this cool, that serves raspberry lime rickeys, with a server as cool and sweet as Lisa, with apple pies each made with 24 apples and an owner (yes, Raymond) who is gracious enough to stop me in my tracks to compliment my son's sweetness (followed by a free house made marshmallow) easily gets 5 STARS in my book. I look forward to going back for a second time this weekend. A great addition to Ridgewood for sure.

Milltown, NJ - May 7th, 2013

I used to work at a restaurant in Ridgewood. I moved to central Jersey  two years ago, and the other day I went up to visit. During the car ride I though, "Perhaps I should have suggested we go to Montclair, because I'm craving Raymond's." Oh my goodness was I happy when I saw they built one in Ridgewood. I Seriously love the food here. I highly recommend this place. I was a waitress, and it seems like the people who dislike this place, are the people who dislike EVERY place. The wait staff was crazy attentive, and the food is amazing. I got the Vegetable Baguette and fries, and my mouth was so happy. My boyfriend got the fish and chips and said it was the best he's ever had (he seriously always orders fish and chips). Anyhow, the environment is quaint and the food is delicious. Go to Raymond's!

Ridgewood, NJ - April 14th, 2013

I went for brunch with my mom. We were starving so we ordered a lot. She had an omelet which was awesome, I had the breakfast burrito which was better than any breakfast burrito I've ever had, and I go to Mexico and az all the time. We also ordered the graham cracker pancakes. They didn't taste like graham cracker but they were delicious!

Ridgewood, NJ - March 16th, 2013

I've been to Raymond's six times (obviously the food is great) and each time I try something new. So far I've had the Roasted Chicken (with the meatloaf sides), very good. The beef Stroganoff, excellent. Ribeye steak sandwich, awesome. Cobb Salad, unexpectedly good. Chicken Paillard, great. Kale Salad, terrific. The breakfast is also equally as good, make sure you get the pancakes (whole wheat) they're off the hook.Basically everything I've tried so far is just great. What stands out for me in particular is, the service. The staff is efficient, friendly, and very courteous. If there's anything you don't like- they fix it immediately or Bob (the Manager) will make it right.I live in Ridgewood and it is great to have such a "go to place"- right down the block, I'll keep goin back!

Glen Rock, NJ - March 5th, 2013

I've been to both the Raymond's in Montclair and Ridgewood, I think I enjoy the newer location more.Great breakfast at a reasonable price. Check out the French toast, it's the best I've ever had. Everything I've tried was delicious.I'll definitely be back, I hear they have good burgers and I'd like to try one next time I go. Light years better than the country pancake place down the road.Although this place gets crowded on the weekends so you may have a wait on a busy morning, keep that in mind on a cold day.

North Haledon, NJ - February 23rd, 2013

I've been to Raymond's in Ridgewood 3 times now and just love it.  Their chicken & dumpling soup is outstanding. You can tell they use only the freshest ingredients and I especially love that they use organic pasture raised eggs...that makes such a huge difference.  Oh and their hot white chocolate hits the spot on these cold days. A+++

Mahwah, NJ - February 4th, 2013

There's something about a good brunch spot and in my experience, it's been challenging to find one in our neck of the woods. Frankly, I'm sick of the coffee shop or diner experience that you find everywhere and after IHOP, I feel like I need to have my arteries roto-rootered. My Mother recommended Raymond's as a new alternative to our regular haunt and it was a great idea. First of all, this place is perfect for Instagram picture takers. The old fashioned colored seltzer bottles adorn the restaurant and since it was a sunny day, there was a rainbow of colors sparkling throughout the place. It's very busy and loud but great for kids. I don't recommend bringing the grandparents as they'll be lost in the clanging of dishes, jazz music and loud servers trying to be heard. I dig the variety of furniture they have set up at the tables. Not one chair is a match and the old school 1950's style booths are comfy. The staff is very accommodating and our server was especially kind to my nine year old when she asked for pickles instead of french fries. What kid does that btw? The menu is basic but unique. There is something for everyone. On our table was a thick veggie burger (made in house), A Breakfast Burrito (with Chorizo, eggs and yummy cheese), a fluffy egg white omelette (with Spinach), a Grilled Cheese and their signature French Toast which is TO DIE FOR. I had a Vanilla Egg Cream and there was great coffee and fresh lemonade to be had. The five of us kept sharing forkfuls of each dish and the common phrase at the table was, "I'm getting that next time!" You know a restaurant rocks when you know what you're having on your next visit. Kudos to Raymond's and thanks to my Mom for the great find and for picking up the check! ;)Footnote: the check for 5 came to $55 (w/one kid's meal). Very reasonable in this Foodie's opinion.

New York, NY - January 25th, 2013

Sometimes the best thing that happen are surprises. Let me share with you my experience here. Looking at the exterior it seems like a faux diner with hanging fixtures, black and white tiled floor and red vinyl stools, I was expecting a typical in and out '60's NJ diner breakfast. Before finding a stool, I eyed a paper rack brimming with complementary reads (note; no wifi as the manager explained they view the restaurant as a comfort food establishment....not sure I agree, but to each their own). The breakfast menu had a few intriguing surprises; Falls Mill grits, organic eggs sourced from the farm and Norwegian eggs Benedict. Moreover, the counter is stocked with three varieties of housemade marshmallows and baked goods prepared by their in-house baker. The barista, and yes, this 'diner' has a barista, serves Red House Roasters blend and outrageous Belgian hot chocolate. When I was asking her about the coffee, she said its so good that she's going to serve the first one on the house! Later, she came by with a demitasse of the hot chocolate to sample. My cup runneth over with love. The eggs and grits were served promptly, were delicious and presented well. I understand the vegan vegi burgers are outstanding, I'll have to come back for more, with my only hesitation that today's meal was such a great surprise and hard to beat. The bar's been raised!

TWP WASHINGTN, NJ - January 20th, 2013

Best breakfast I have ever had.  I had the Norwegian Eggs Benedict.  The potato pancakes in place of the traditional English muffin was the way to go.  Good decision on their part.  If you don't like smoked salmon then this is the dish that will turn you into a fan.  I'm not particularly a huge fan myself, but the combination of favors truly makes you forget about  any one single ingredient.  Good stuff.  Really good stuff.  My girlfriend had the French toast.  Doesn't look like French toast.  Doesn't taste like French toast.  It redefines French toast.  It transcends French toast.  How good is it, you ask?  That good.Belgian hot chocolate.  Decadent.  Also, they give you a huge marshmallow with it.  The kids/big kids will love it.  I think they also offer 3 different favors of marshmallows which is really cool.  I can't wait to bring my niece here.  She'll have a ball with the hot chocolate.  I know I did.We went at 10:00am on Sunday, and the two of us walked right in.  I wish we could have sat in the front room because its bright and spacious.  The decor is also cool.  It is new, but it still feels nostalgic.  They also have a nice selection of magazines if you enjoy reading while you wait or as your eating, and they have a breakfast bar if you're dining solo.  We were out by 10:30.  Service was FAST and friendly.  On the way out , we noticed a wait.  However, the place is big and roomy compared to the pancake house.  Also, the food is well portioned and delicious as opposed to big and dry.  Personally, I don't like more than I can eat for breakfast because I won't eat breakfast leftovers.  This place is perfect.  Move over Pancake House.  There's a new sheriff in town, and his name is Raymond!

Sara B.

Bronx, NY - January 6th, 2013

Have been loving Raymond's in Montclair and was super excited when I heard they were coming to Ridgewood. It was a long wait but totally worth it. I went with a bunch of people and everyone loved their food (and all had to try one another's food as well). We got the French toast with berries which was amazing, very unique kind of had a french crueler vibe with very fresh berries and real maple syrup. The steak and eggs also delish, omelette with avacado and cheese with home fries also very fresh, corn pancakes amazing and unique along with great coffee. I will be back and am looking forward to when they open for dinner. I disagree about the portions not being big enough. Everyone I was with ate until they were full and still had left overs. Comparing to Pancake House is insane nowhere else on earth gives as much food as that place you could feed a family of 4 with one pancake. P.s. Decor is amazing. Cleaniest bathrooms ever!

Rutherford, NJ - December 23rd, 2012

I frequent Raymond's in Montclair because I attend school there.  I was pleased to find out that another Raymond's opened here in Ridgewood!  The food is fantastic at both locations.  The French Toast is to die for.  Since the location opened in Ridgewood, I have been there five times! It is GREAT.  Do yourselves a favor, never go back to the gross Country Pancake House or The Daily Treat and eat well for once!

Glen Rock, NJ - December 23rd, 2012

In a word..... fan-freakin-tastic.Let's start with the decor... I was in this building when it was a Washington Mutual branch. I was amazed at the difference. This inviting retro styled restaurant loaded with Americana looks like it has been there for 20 years.. Great job. Now, the food: I showed up for brunch and had a hard time deciding what I wanted to order. I settled on the Norwegian Benedict and was happy that I did. The hollandaise was great and the smoked salmon was "to die for." A great twist was that it didn't lie on an English muffin. Instead, the foundation of this dish was two potato cakes... As stated, Fan-freakin-tastic!I also have tried the Wild Mushroom Omelette and can say that I've never tasted such delicious sauteed mushrooms.Run, do not walk, to this place for brunch..... it's truly..... (for lack of s better phrase) Devine!
